Taba was our doula for the birth of our second child. Giving birth without the use of drugs was very important to me. I was not able to achieve that with the birth of my first child. I was able to have my son without any intervention besides a hospital mandatory IV. Taba is dedicated, patient and fun. If you are going to be in that much pain for 11 hours, you might as well laugh about it. While it was painful with a lot of back labor, my Taba used techniques to lessen the pain. She went through great lengths to help make me as comfortable as possible. She jokingly told me sheâ??d do a rain dance for me if that would help my birth go smoother, which wasnâ??t necessary, but I think she actually would have! After birth, I had issues with breastfeeding and Taba came to my rescue once again. She is an endless source of knowledge and if she doesnâ??t know something, she will leave no stone unturned until she finds the answer. I consider Taba a friend. I highly recommend Taba to anyone who wants to have a laugh doing such a joyous occasion.

Taba was amazing! Before my sons birth and after my son's birth. She labored with me for two days. And stayed most of the night to help me nurse. My husband said she made him a better coach! Taba also was always there any time of the day. We love her and can't wait to work with her again. She is not only our doula but a member of our family now!

Taba, you are so passionate about what you do and you do it so lovingly. We had a very sweet birth and we owe it to you! Thank you! You were the one who checked on me to make sure I was feeling fine when my baby was overdue and I was feeling stressed and you were the one sending me supportive information when the doctor said my pelvis may be too tight. Having you as a doula made me very relaxed during labor. I felt I could totally surrender and let everything be. Because you and Joni were there helping me with contractions and coordinating the hospital prep at home I could have my husband right next to me all the time. I canâ??t even start to count everything you did during labor! Having you as a doula made everything go smoothly. It was SO good to have you in the laboring room so even in an unfamiliar hospital room among all the nurses and medical staff I didnâ??t know I knew I was with â??familyâ? and that I was in good hands. While the medical personnel was only interested in this machine or that machine or this form or that form, you were the ones sincerely interested in me and the baby. You were the ones who made it a positive experience, and the labor was even fun! And it was great having you visit after the birth. It was lovely to see you again and to get help with breastfeeding just in time. We feel that hiring you was one of the best things we did and that the hospital bill and the doula bill should actually be switched. We are so grateful that you did what you did! Thanks for being there for us and with us!

Hiring Taba as our doula was one of the smartest decisions we made. With her help we were able to achieve our goal of a completely un-medicated birth. She helped us to stay home for as long as possible and to recognize the true signs that it was time to go to the hospital. She also allowed us to maintain the integrity of our birth plan by advocating for us and helping us to avoid unnecessary interventions at the hospital. Our biggest challenge has been with breastfeeding and Taba has shown great care and concern for us as we navigate this process now that we are home from the hospital. I feel as though she doesnâ??t consider her duties over once the birth has occurred. Rather, she is a member of our team now and I know I can call on her with questions anytime. We feel so fortunate that Taba came into our lives and you should not hesitate in hiring her for your birth.

Before I became pregnant, I was set on getting an epidural and minizing my labor pain as much as possible. I was scared, insecure and uneducated about pregnancy, labor, breastfeeding and parenting. Then when I became pregnant, I started to read books, do research, talk to other moms, and realized, I wanted to be the best mother I can be. I ended up choosing natural labor and I was committed to breastfeeding. Taba was key to my learning - she provided internet links to medical articles, videos, websites, and provided unbiased opinions on the whole process. When I went into labor, I wasn't sure if I could do it naturally, but she helped me every step of the way, with massages, stretches, lunges, rocking, hip squeezes, etc. She brought all kinds of head & back massagers, balls, and other coping items to help me through. She taught my husband how to support me and helped him understand what I was going through. I could not have given natural birth to my son without Taba. We actually stayed at my home and arrived at the hospital at 9 cm dilation! What I remember most is her sense of humor. She has the funniest sense of humor. She helped us with breastfeeding at late hours of the night and made us laugh uncontrollably. Taba is one of the most beautiful human beings I know. She is so caring, extremely generous with her love & her time, and she is so committed and passionate about her role as a doula. I had a really hard time with breastfeeding, suffering mastitis and thrush. But with her guidance & support, I stayed committed and 7 months later, I am still breastfeeding exclusively. The bonding with my child during nursing is one of the most precious relationships ever - I had no idea. It was worth all the struggle & pain. I owe such a positive experience to Taba. She is the angel in our lives.

I knew from the first phone conversation that Taba would be my doula. She was amazing guiding me through the last stages of my pregnancy, calling and checking in to make see how I was feeling in the last few weeks leading up to the birth. She was with me for almost 24 hours when I actually did give birth and was an amazing resource. I know that wiithout her help I wouldn't have had the strength to stick to my birth plan. She helped my husband to help me, and guided him to do what I needed him to do. She stayed and helped me breastfeed, and then came over the day I came home from the hospital to make sure I was comfortable and got the support I needed breastfeeding when my milk came in. She has kept in touch and I know if I have any issues at all with breastfeeding, sleep problems or even just mommy blues, I can call her and she will listen to me, support me and offer any help she can. Taba really goes above and beyond, and her passion for supporting and advocating for women before, during and after birth is really inspiring. Taba was amazing and I can never thank her enough for making the birth of my son such a wonderful experience. Even now, 6 months later, it feels really good knowing that she is there for me as a resource and a friend when I need her.

I decided to hire a doula because I wanted to have a VBAC. Ater having felt forced into unnecessary procedures and eventually a c-section from my first birth, I decided to try it my way for the second. I chose Taba as my doula because she had overflowing information on every issue I discussed witih her. When I had a question or concern she responded right away. I felt like she'd take care of me and that's what she did! My second birth turned out great - I don't think I would have lasted as long as I did without Taba and her techniques! She also helped me nurse successfully without the aid of a nipple shield in those first weeks and my second daughter is now 8-months and she is still nursing exclusively!! Without Taba a lot of this couldn't have been possible. Thanks Taba!

I didn't actually meet Taba until the day I went into labor... I started off with a different doula but my doula had two people start labor on the same day. Taba is my doula's mentor and came to my house the day I went into labor as my doula's back up. I was an emotional wreck! I feel as if I would have never survived without her. She came with this calming voice, words of assurance and a huge box of tricks... Who knew my labor would take soo long that we would use every trick in her box. She started with the scalp massager, then the birth ball, massages, humor, heated spa pads, strecthing routines, bathes, feeding me strawberries, bringing me water, taking rhythmic steps, and using this electric calming thingy. I remember us dancing through hosital floors and singing together as I would breathe through contractions. She really made the longest labor process seem like I was having like a sleep over at a hospital with a good friend, which is remarkable because we had just met. My husband, who had gone through all these classes with me, Lamaze and all would have been soo overwhelmed if she was't there. She really relieved the helplessness that you feel when about to welcome your little one in the world. She made my choices as the labor process continued and I felt as though the doctors and nurses really LISTENED to my decisions because she was there. As if that wasn't enough, afterwards, I had so much pain nursing and I would have quite and if she didn't come because I wouldn't have to take him to the doctor because he was tongue tied. She also came and brought me my birth story which was very detailed. I would recommend her to any family or friend any day!

Taba is THE reason I was able to give a vaginal birth to a 9 pound baby! She is without a doubt, the best decision I made for my pregnancy and delivery. Taba's list of positive attributes is astounding and I knew at our first meeting that she was the right person to help me through my journey. Taba is super knowledgable, comforting, supportive, smart and friendly to name just a few. Taba also helped my husband feel a part of the process by helping him help me. As much as our spouses may want to help, most are not knowledgeable to know what to do when you are in labor. Taba knew exactly what I needed before I ever knew. She has a bag of tricks that really help a women get through this miraculous yet difficult journey. Taba provided guidance and support throughout my pregnancy, every step of the way and went over and beyond her "contracted" duties. I knew I could always call Taba with any questions or concerns and she was even to help explain diagnosis' for me that my doctor didn't take the loving care to help me understand. I particularly remember one very difficult moment in labor when all I had to do was look at Taba's eyes and she provided me the reassurance I needed to keep on going. She was also the reason I did not need pitocin and the reason why my doctor allowed me more time for the baby to turn naturally. Taba knew what position to put me in so that my baby would turn naturally, without drugs. She protects your wishes with no holds barred. Taba is hands down worth the cost and I will no doubt be calling upon her once again if we are blessed with another little one. Taba is a gem and we feel so lucky to have had her.
